I investigated housing recovery disparities following disasters, focusing on the unequal impact on vulnerable communities across New York City. I conducted research on how factors such as income, race, and location influenced recovery outcomes and partnered with NYCEM and other city agencies to analyze resource allocation, assistance programs, and access to information. Drawing on these findings and best practices from other cities, I developed policy recommendations to improve equity in disaster response and recovery. I presented insights and recommendations to NYCEM leadership and stakeholders, advocating for more inclusive and equitable recovery policies.
